Multiple Pinoys clocked “Jollibee” at a Filipino food fair in Vienna, Austria but something felt off about this usually energetic mascot of the Philippines No. 1 fast food chain.
It seemed that the mascot was not actually a legit one, but perhaps only a distant and unknown relative. Filipinos spotted the mascot in front of a stall for Jolli (yes, without the bee). The OP, who couldn’t contain his giggles, even observed that the mascot looked pasty because he had an incomplete name.
Still, Pinoys who recognized the reference still had their photos taken with the “impostor.”
One thing’s for certain, whether he’s the real thing or a second-rate, trying-hard copycat, this jolly bee still managed to draw laughs and serve up some snaps worthy for the ‘gram.
Netizens who watched the viral video on Facebook joined in on the fun, dishing out hilarious guesses about what made the iconic mascot look so glum:
“Bakit ang lungkot ng beshy namin? Mukhang napagod sa biyahe from Phils to Europe,” suggested Rea Villanueva.
Another netizen, MeaKryztine Aquiviano guessed: “Parang na-deform po hindi nanaba! Naipit ata sa eroplano papuntang Europe.”
“Yung Jollibee niyo pagod na. Jollibee nyo nagmahal ng maling tao kaya pumayat,” added JB Angelie.
“Jollibee niyo nag OPLAN BALIK ALINDOG. Nagpapayat, sana all napayat!” said Jen Alina.
