Antique just staged its first-ever Kruhay Dive Festival to boast about its breathtaking dive spots that are also worthy of the world’s love and attention.

The Western Visayas province is home to some stunning dive spots that need to be on every scuba enthusiast’s radar.

These must-visit spots include the islands of Mararison, Batbatan, and Maniguin in Culasi; Sebaste Shoal in Sebaste; Seco Island in Tibiao, and Nogas Island in Anini-y.

In launching the first dive festival, Antique Rep. Antonio Agapito noted how scuba diving is a booming industry that gives a big boost to the economy.

“After this event, we can move forward and be able to provide dive packages to tourists,” said Agapito in a Philippine News Agency report.

He added that promoting Antique as a dive site is a win-win as it will help local tourism, support small businesses and communities by creating new livelihood opportunities, and also inspire residents to protect the environment.
