Filipina tennis star Alex Eala just hit a new milestone, climbing to a career-best World No. 53 in the latest WTA rankings.
The 20-year-old athlete moved up one spot from her previous high of No. 54 earlier this month, gaining 1,131 points right before she heads to China for the Guangzhou Open, where she’s set to compete in both singles and doubles.
Eala’s latest boost comes after a tough first-round loss at the Japan Open to Czech player Tereza Valentova, who went on to become the tournament’s runner-up.
