Aegis to celebrate late lead vocalist Mercy Sunot’s legacy in upcoming Valentine’s concert

OG Filipino rock band Aegis is staging a concert, with part of the proceeds going to the family of its late lead vocalist, Mercy Sunot.

Iconic Filipino rock band Aegis is set to make their “Aegis: Halik sa Ulan (A Valentine Special)” concert extra special by dedicating part of the proceeds to the family of their late lead vocalist, Mercy Sunot.

“Part of the proceeds of Aegis: Halik sa Ulan / A Valentine Special will be given to the family of Mercy Sunot,” the band shared on Instagram.

The concert, set for February 1 and 2 next year at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, will honor Mercy’s nearly 30-year contribution to Filipino music.

“Your outstanding talent will always be remembered,” said Aegis.

Formed in 1995, Aegis is known for hits like “Halik”, “Sayang na Sayang,” “Basang Basa sa Ulan,” and “Christmas Bonus.”

Mercy passed away in San Francisco, California, on November 18 while undergoing treatment for breast and lung cancer.
