Actress Sofia Andres reveals why she sacrificed education for family and her college comeback plan

Actress Sofia Andres says she’s happy successfully supporting her siblings through college.

Rather than focusing on luxury and extravagance as some celebrities do, actress Sofia Andres has chosen to prioritize sending her siblings to school, even if it means sacrificing her own education in the process.

In an interview with broadcaster Karen Davila on her vlog, Sofia revealed how she became the breadwinner at a young age after being discovered as a model and transitioning to acting.

“Wala akong complain growing up. Kahit kailangan ko gumising ng 4 am, I don’t complain. Basta makita ko family ko na all good, healthy, may pang school,” said Sofia.

She said she enjoyed being the breadwinner because she loved acting and modeling. “I didn’t realize kasi puro bata kami sa Makati, akala ko naglalaro lang kami, may VTR kami, having fun. That’s how I fell in love with acting,” said Sofia.

Before she knew it, the 25-year-old actress had sent her siblings to college, helping them earn their degrees. However, her sacrifices meant she couldn’t pursue a college degree herself.

“They all finished college. Ako lang po naiwan. I finished high school,” she shared.

Despite this, Sofie is determined to achieve her dream of becoming an interior designer. “It’s okay naman to go back anytime. I’m really saving now to go back to school kasi that’s really my dream, to finish college,” said Sofia.
