For some Filipinos, showbiz is the ultimate dream—fame, fortune, and brushing shoulders with the stars. But for actress Kaye Abad, her real dream life began when she stepped away from the limelight, moved to Cebu, and built a family with her husband, Paul Jake Castillo.
In an interview with broadcaster Karen Davila on her vlog, Kaye shared how Cebu became the place where she finally realized her true dream of having her own family. Kaye and Paul, who tied the knot in 2016, are now parents to two boys, Joaquin and Iñigo Leon.
“It has been my dream to have my own family. As early as 18 (years old), sabi ko when I have my own family, I think I’ll stop acting. Kasi I want to concentrate with my family,” revealed the actress.
“Yung buhay na pinangarap ko, natupad lahat dito. Yung motherhood, housewife, natupad lahat. Hindi ako artista dito,” she added.
Kaye said she appreciates the simplicity and laid-back vibe of Cebu, which is Paul’s hometown.
“Naenjoy ko. I love it here in Cebu. Very laid back, simple life, everything is near, I drive my kids to school, nagogo-grocery ako mag isa,” said Kaye.
Despite living her dream life in Cebu, Kaye hasn’t completely turned back on showbiz. She recently starred in the film “A Journey,” proving that while she’s stepped back, she hasn’t entirely stepped out of the spotlight.
