Actress Bianca Umali proves she’s a global star with ‘Best Actress’ win in Japan for ‘Mananambal’

Actress Bianca Umali wins Best Dramatic Actress at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Nagoya, Japan, for her compelling performance in the movie, "Mananambal."

Actress Bianca Umali just showed the world that Filipinos can totally slay on the international stage after snagging the Best Dramatic Actress award at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Japan for her powerful performance in the film, “Mananambal.”

Sharing the screen with the legendary National Artist Nora Aunor, Bianca’s acting chops truly shone through, and she took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the recognition.

“grateful for the journey, humbled by the recognition,” said Bianca.

In a separate post, Bianca dedicated her win to her grandmother and the entire Philippine movie industry. “salamat, Ama! para ito sa Lola ko!!! MABUHAY ANG PELIKULANG PILIPIΝΟ!” wrote Bianca.


“Mananambal” is a film that gives the world a glimpse of the world of a Filipino traditional healer who can also perform sorcery.

The Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival, held in Nagoya, Japan from May 25 to 26, celebrated cross-cultural collaboration between Japan and other countries.
