After years in police service sniffing out bombs, these K-9 dogs have hung up their leashes and harness to enjoy their twilight years with cuddles, belly rubs, and playtime.
No dog is ever too old to have a loving home so Casper and Snow, two Labrador Retrievers aged 12 and 13 respectively, and Nik, a 10-year-old German Shepherd are given a second chance to have a well-deserved retirement in a happy and quiet environment.
These exceptional canines were once part of the Police Special Action Force (SAF) 153 Special Action Company/ Explosive Ordnance K-9 unit, a team of highly trained and skilled military working dogs that specialized in explosives detection and disposal.
Now, the SAF has opened its doors for the adoption of the three retired dogs and has reached out to all dog lovers who can take them in and offer them a loving and caring home life in their golden years.
“These dogs who have risked their lives fearlessly need a new home, a place where they can enjoy their well-deserved retirement and experience the love and care they so deserve,” it said in a statement ran by Philippine Star.
It urged dog lovers to consider adopting these dog heroes and give them a second shot at a brighter future as a way of honoring their exceptional service keeping communities safe.
